  • Even Richard Dawkins' response was brilliant. Both these men are badasses. Inspirational!

Maybe not, but there is a sensitive way to express science. Carl Sagan was a master of this and if you watch his series Cosmos you can see how he does it. First of all he had a beautiful way of describing science and the natural wonders of the universe which by itself is captivating, but explains how we know what we know is true, and why the scientific method is so effective. He eases you in. People will make their own conclusions when they know and understand enough.

  • "Science is interesting, and if you don't agree, you can fuck off."

  • I wonder if there is a sensitive way to express atheism, considering the religious person believes that the universe has order and that they will avoid death by means of some afterlife or reincarnation. The atheist has to tell the religious person that not only is there no order in the universe, but that they will most probably die. That is a hard pill to swallow.

  • @samuelphillippi There are some religions that DO behave as such. Not many, but they do exist dear sir. They are not very organized however

One FINE example is the UUA(Unitarian Universalist Association)

  • It really depends on the audience.

If someone is willing to accept new Ideas then sensitivity is useful.

If they are not but also demand that you accept their Ideas, then you have to approach it at a different angle.

Frankly: The only way threw a thick skull, is blunt force, or a sharp point.

  • The difference between religion and science, you can tell science it's wrong or taking the wrong approach and it accepts, incorporates, and moves on better for it.

  • @Aldridge517 YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Tyson > Dawkins

  • The problem is that the media wants barbed words and controversy, so Dawkins gets the media coverage and ... effectively ... gets more people's attention. Thus he does impact the world quite a bit with his sharp and blunt method of wording. He has broken many free of the shackles of religious nonsense ... and that's a pretty hard thing to do because of the brainwashing.
