  • Very good Mega, thanks for sending, I can see it was filmed some time ago but still nice to see working semaphore signals

  • @englischlokfuehrer

    Thank you, David! :)

Yes, the semaphores are becoming rare.

  • Really that's an interesting location! From what I've seen your videos, German trains generally move very fast, but here they go slower. Are there any restrictions?

  • @AXELGP73

I´m glad that you like the location! :)

This is a short ( 1 km long) connection line between the Freight Station Cologne-Kalk (Gbf = Güterbahnhof) and the Shunting Station Cologne-Gremberg (Rbf = Rangierbahnhof).

The trains are slow. When the semaphore signal is raising both arms, it means: drive slow!

That means they are even slower than the already slow velocity then.

When the little pre-signal is turning it´s arrow, it means: slow velocity is to expect at the next main signal.

  • @megatwingo In the first instance the speed limit of 40kmph = 25 mph, The colour light equivilant is green over 2 yellows, in the second slow down to that speed by the main signal and the colour light would be green over green and yellow, if both signals have a main and distant (Haupt und Vor) elemant

  • @englischlokfuehrer

Thanks for those informations, David! :)
