Home Made Zamboni.mov

Inspired by mmiller6608 (http://www.youtube.com/user/mmiller6608#p/a/u/0/Zo2ZwPU09Ek). We developed this zamboni to resurface our two 40' x 100' rinks in Blasdell, NY. It's just two heavy plastic bristle push brooms mounted under a board with a pvc "T" behind with holes in it. Then a towel is mounted on top to to smooth the ice. A 12v pump from tractor supply pumps hot water into the "T" .

Thanks Mark. We changed out the pump to a 5 gal. per minute model and can now do an entire rink in 13 minutes. Plus we added a scraper in front of the brooms made out of old road signs.

my home town needs to do this...at first they use to jus flood over the snow then they got a smidge smarter and now they use a bobcat to scrape the snow but then they jus use the fire hydrent and flood the place like a pool :P

That's good because in the video I was surprised you didn't really scrap the ice down enough before you zambonied!
