@lauramarie182 You are so right there. When you see people drunk and tattooed with children in tow. Need I say more.

Takes me back to a good time and reminds me that we need to look after our kids always and always.
-
Universal lyrics which should be compulsory listening for ALL ADULTS. As true today as they were back in 1967 (the year I was married).

This song is more chilling now than it was back in 1967: Considering that now we have destructive things that didn't exist in that life-changing year of '67 (cellular phones, the computer, cable TV among them). I said to my mother a year ago to listen to this song, but she didn't get to it yet. I had to write this in the wake of OBL being found dead (in which I know he was a patsy and that the real people got away scot free).

Good points, all of them. If all the adults would band together, then kids could get away with very, very little.
-
There is a Japanese parody version.
The title is "子供たちを責めないで(kodomotati wo semenaide)" mean "Don't blame the children".
(Sorry, I'm poor at English)

The GREAT Sammy Davis Jr. When talent was talent and singers could sing.

Even back there in those years, there's never been truer lyrics to a song. I believe that the generation of to-day should sit down and take notice of exactly what the lyrics are telling us and therefore we might find our children heading in the right direction. At the end of the day,we adults allowed it to happen. One of my favourite songs.
