Interesting listening with the rear-view mirror view. "Twice as many media stories about a recession when we're not in one": That statement jumps out at me. I would guess it's not too far off to say that there is FOUR TIMES as much "media" now than there was during the 90s. Lots of media, but very little journalism. It's a shame.

Dave Ramsey doesn't believe in fixing your problems for you. He encourages you to fix your problems yourself. Personal responsibility. It's not his job to give you a personal notice of financial difficulties to come. And if you're in charge of your money properly then you don't need Dave Ramsey to warn you. You won't need anyone to warn you, you'll already be set to ride out the problem as an inconvenience not a crisis.
