The complaints against commercial media are certainly valid but the filmmakers failed to argue how less media consolidation would correct the problem. Consolidation is a symptom, not the core problem. Capitalist ownership of media is the problem. Sinclair Lewis wrote about this in The Brass Check almost 90 years ago. If we want diverse media and fearless journalism, then we need a vibrant and well-funded nonprofit media sector. Breaking up media corporations ain't gonna get it.
