Finally back on the bike after a little break down shut me down for about a month. Both my wife and I are glad I'm riding again. She notices a major increase in my grumpiness when I don't have a bike to go out and hurt myself on.

In this video I talk about a few of the pet peeves I've developed over my year and 1/2 of living in Panama. I know there are a few people out there who look to my blog for information on what it's really like to live here. Retail stores, government employees, overzealous security guards, and online shopping are a few that make the list.

  • u got some good points but why would u care about the tickets i rather pay $10 than get a ticket and why didnt u mention driving i would think an american would hate it

  • @BigFloppyTaco Because the cops know you would rather pay the $10 and they target gringos living in the country. I've seen their eyes light up when they see me coming through a checkpoint.

  • @halfthrottle ya u have a point theyll stop anyone but theyll stop gringos more often but u probably get better service at restaurants and things like that with people thinking youll tip more

  • @BigFloppyTaco There is only 1 restaurant in David that I consider to have good service. It's called Cuatro. Amazing food, fair price. Only difference I've noticed being a gringo at food places is sometimes you end up paying more. The gringo price, they call it.

  • Could someone get by speaking only english in Panama (I don't speak spanish)?

  • @boomtao I don't speak much Spanish and I get by just fine.

  • we have stupid random and permanent checkpoints in america too. The public is fooled into not caring that it is prohibited by our constitution by the claim that it is for their safety.

  • @halfthrottle ya they expect more money but most places are good and im from the city and people tend to be more rude and lazy since they dont make much from tips

  • awesome video, this is what i love, make more like this

  • Thanks for information on living in Panama. I have a friend that was thinking about it.
