The bonds of friendship, loyalty and tradition run deep through the entertainment industry. For five comedy/variety veterans -- Shelley Berman, Austin "Rocky" Kalish, Hal Kanter, Gary Owens, and Paul Pumpian -- their regular lunch gatherings are a chance to joke, tell stories, and stay connected to each other's lives.
A Saving The Lives of Our Own camera was invited to join them last week knowing their discussion would inevitably turn to the proposed closing of the MPTF Hospital and LTC units. It became very clear from their pointed comments that the hospital & LTC are the core of MPTF's historic "taking care of our own" promise and must be preserved. The board has lost its way. It's your industry. It's your future. Get involved.

Is this a reflection of a "new greed in the newer breed" of Hollywood heavy? Is that why they keep referring to Lew Wasserman, because he had more heart & soul, and inspired more connection?
