This is the City of Aberdeen, MD, Department of Public Works, Environmental Division.
The truck is an International / McNeilus rear loader with a pusher axle. From what I understand, recycle pickup is free, but for trash, you must have a service sticker on the waste.

This truck is collecting recyclable materials. As you can see these crews are VERY friendly, too bad all collectors aren't like these!

  • Oh ok cool. How many different haulers dump in there? Just wondering how many haulers are in Harford. Do you have any idea what the cost to dump is (per ton)? This is one of the areas I'm thinking of starting a garbage company in.

  • yea i see these trucks everyday when they dump it at my job

  • Nice. Where do you work at?

  • I might have... that seems familiar... but I'm not 100% sure.

  • Did you happen to see the video of the 2009 international rl owned by G.D.S and it was broken down?

  • Steering going out... yikes that's a bad thing, glad they got it fixed quick!

  • I talked to my guys who use this type of truck and he said the steering went out on their truck on a busy highway and they had it back the next day.

  • I hope the newer ones are better -- all my experience comes from trucks that were in the late 90s generation I think they were 4900s. I've always thought that the International's were good looking trucks... so I was sad to have them slowly fall apart on me. One common flaw with all the ones I drove, was that the gauges would simply die (this wasn't 1 truck it was more like 10 of them -- some at AAA and some at WM). I could be cruising down the road with my MPH at 0 and RPMs at 0.

  • Thanks I never knew that they had all those problems. I wonder if the new Navistars are any better?
