I watched bandstand before Dick Clark. It was called Bob Horn'a bandstand and it was aired locally in Pa. We could get it on a Philadelphia channel. This was around 1954-55 timeframe. Later Dick Clark took over and then they went national.Would watch it everyday after school and then go play basketball. The 50s were great, rock and roll just started.

@grandadjim Hello there, Kenny Rossi released at least six or seven 45's. Bob and Justine also released a 45. I am very fortunate to have them all. Great times!

To bigratfink65;
This is from the book, "The History of American Bandstand"
Bandstand's first broadcast from L.A. was on February 8, 1964
Dick Clark moved the show there because the music scene was much bigger there. He also said that another reason he did so was because of what happened one winter in Philly when it snowed so hard that folks couldn't get to the studios for awhile. So, they had the cameramen film him and some of the regulars having a snowball fight. Cool!!

You're absolutely right. I don't have a list at hand, but you can google Brian's Doo Wop Fixxx, and once there, click Search My Site at left, enter Kenny Rossi, and there's one disc that comes up for play: "I Never Thought I'd Miss It (But I Do)." Enjoy.

Do you or anybody remember Kenny Rossi cutting a few records back in the early 60's? I know he had at least one single called Wait And See and I think he even did a tour because I remember seeing him on tv here in Detroit in our version of Bandstand, Club 1270.

I just watched this and my heart melted. I was 13 when Bandstand came on the air in Southern California where I lived. I wore my hair like Justine, I learned all the dances like the Stroll, the Circle Dance, the Swim, the Bop. I was up against the tv screen so I could watch Bob and Justine dance by. Pat Molitierri was found by her husband in her back yard after she had hung some clothes out to dry. Pat died at the early age of 31. Pat was the bee-bop queen of Bandstand.
Many of Bandstand's "Regulars" are gone already. Which network is gonna get smart, help boost ratings, and do a 2-hr. expansion of this little clip? There's a HUGE nostalgia out here for those "simpler" times. Seeing/hearing Kenny & Arlene, Bob & Justine we "re-live" a space of our own lives. It's great.

I remember those times and YES the rest of us DID learn to dance from them. THANK YOU for the dance lessons. You guys were as important as any of the other performers, if not more so.
