The problem today is that we are spoiled. We always want the best and we want it now. Money is not everything. Self accomplishment is a prize you cannot buy, you have to work for it.

I recently upgraded my YouTube video recording equipment (Bought a Canon EOS 60D and a rode videomic pro). For me that type of purchase is really expensive so I had to sell a lot of used games. If I asked my audience to buy equipment for me I'd feel horrible! Hard work and sacrifice makes the purchase even more enjoyable when you CAN eventually afford it.

I guess I just haven't been seeing those videos with people asking for money, but I totally agree that it's pretty unethical to ask for money for something that is essentially a hobby. There are a lot of things I wish I had, but simply asking for donations is not the way to it.

@Croooow111 Yeah there are just alot of cases of people asking for money that don't need what there asking for to make there videos, they want the stuff. But are milking there audience for it which is just wrong.
