You'd be far better off spending time picketing multinational corporations and the like who do deal serious damage the the environment (not that I think picketing really accomplishes anything, you've got to dumb an issue down and stick a celebrity in front of the camera to make the proles care)without providing people with a chance to travel abroad.

I think what you miss is that seeing the world is AWESOME. You're focusing on the wrong set of people, sure the impact of planes is significant, and the companies should be made to take steps to offset their damage, but focusing on the individual people and trying to ruin their holidays will do nothing more than alienate them.
