VCU - Obama rally streets of Richmond 11/04/2008

Thousands, moslty VCU students, rally the streets in Richmond VA when word came down that Barack Obama would be the 44th president of the United States. This truly is a milestone for America, as this is the first time Virginia has voted Democrat in over 50 years.

This video is a non-bias reporting on the events as they unfolded.

Everyone went out in the street because they were happy and wanted to share in the exitement. Much of the VCU community experianced the crushing disapointment of voting for kerry and feeling like their vote was for not. Obama's victory renewed our trust in our voting system and government. This wasnt a "mob" or a "riot" it was simply people coming together to share in their exitement. The police helped block off streets so the march could pass without anyone harmed.

Yeah the video actually looks a lot 'darker' and in some scenes does in fact look like a riot. Which is what I said, "Looks like a peaceful riot". But yeah sorry, I should have chosen better vocab.

Being from Australia, you are obviously ignorant of Obama. Nothing much will change, other than the idiot will put the USA into a deeper debt. He won't handle Iran or N. Korea like most past Presidents would have, and we are heading towards another 9/11. The American people will not put up with him, and he will be a one term president. No need to argue.
