There was nothing wrong with what the cop said. He's a friendly new yorker. I agree, people should stand back 200 feet even if they live on the street. How much trouble would that cop have been in if something happened and the person filming got injured by that hose coming off.

your right trucksoner, i shouldn't have said that. i give both a lot of credit, just that sometimes "cops" get to carried away and there badge goes straight to their head. I def. have a lot more respect for nypd then the suffolk police department since they do nothing and start off with 75k a yr. just about or close. ps. FDNY IS THE BEST JOB ON EARTH ! ! !

cops aren't pussies. in my neighbourhood we've had a few fires and cops sometimes run in there before the fire department arrives to make sure everyone is out
some cops are dicks but most of them are good
the whole firefighter and cops having beef with each other is so immature and stupid

if you really think that your an idiot or a wannabe

you are there for THEM though, you are serving THEM. you are a civil servant, thats why you do that. you have no choice but to do what others would have doubts about, since you took the oath bro. don't play yourself up, we're all the same.

youre a block over from the job, very unlikely that somebody is going to get struck by broken glass. dont TELL people what to do, suggest it to them. its not "go stand over there". thats not how we address people who we are there for in the first place.

I also have never have anyone I work with ever considereed ourselves just civil servants we are but we save lives that I think deserves a smidgeon more credit than just a civil servant, I'm not better than anyone on here but I do what lots would have doubts about doing at times
Jimmy, it's ok, man. I lived on that street. I was in no one's way.
