Samia Gamal 1953 Lady Pickpocket (Nashala Hanem)

From the 1953 film Nashala Hanem (Lady Pickpocket) Samia Gamal plays the part of a professional pickpocket who is forced by her family of crooks to trick a wealthy businessman by impersonating his dead niece so she can gain access to his house and then steal a huge and valuable diamond that he owns. She dresses like a schoolgirl to make them believe that she is younger than she really is. What she had not counted on is the fact that the half brother of the REAL niece lives wth her uncle too. (the real neice is deceased but her uncle and half brother don't know it ) Samia falls in love with him, but of course she can't tell him that because he thinks that she is his sister. In this scene Samia is watching him as he hugs his fianceé (who is a conniving and unfaithful golddigger) and this depresses her because she is terribly jealous. She falls asleep in a chair and begins to dream about dancing for him in different situations. She dances a jazz number in a slit dress with a cigarrette. Then she dances an amazing and very well executed mambo, in the best Perez Prado tradition, followed by a raqs sharqi number. At the end of the clip she wakes up cranky and in a fit of jealousy she takes a pie that's sitting on the table and pushes it into the hated fianceé's face.
At the end of the film she repents of her thieving ways, and discovers that the family of crooks are not really her family after all.
