  • @MrGrevy Hello, Do you know the name of the lawyer who represented Harlan Ellison in his lawsuit for Terminator?

  • @LordNifty - wow, got any more info? is it a book?

  • Cameron ripped off the Titanic disaster too in his movie Titanic. I suppose it's coincidence a ship with the same name had the same thing happen to it?? God I fucking hate that plagiarist piece of SHIT.

  • Orson Scott Card once wrote about how he saw a movie director viciously berate an assistant for something which was clearly the director's fault, and which the director knew was his fault. People have said to Card, "Wouldn't it be great if this guy made an Ender's Game movie?" To which he always replies, "I'd prefer that it never be made." Card has never revealed the director's name, but based on other things he's said about Cameron, I'd bet a week's pay it was him.

  • @hcvang Ellison also wrote the best star trek episode ever made "The City on the Edge of Forever" surprisingly his script was severely altered and pretty much ruined. If you want a good read I believe he published the original script. try Amazon or a library.

  • I tracked down the two Outer Limits episodes out of curiosity and was treated to excellent drama... Ellison sure knows how to make a good yarn.

Ofcourse, now I have to see the rest of the original series of Outer Limits, if there are stories of this calibre in the series.

  • What about the 1953 story "Second Variety" by Philip K. Dick? It was about a post-nuclear apocalypse in the future where intelligent machines designed military robots that were disguised as humans to infiltrate and kill actual humans.

  • @WBShepherd That's when we saw his true nature, I'm afraid. A greedy, arrogant piece of shit. I mean, for fucks sake.. the man does the 'casting couch' when hiring hot young actresses! ridiculous to respect such a human being.

Sure, I still watch his films from time to time - the Terminator movies, I mean, but I dont like the guy any more because he happened to be able to make a couple of good movies based on other peoples ideas.

  • @EddieAngstrom You know, you're right... he doesnt have an original idea in his body, it's all ripoffs.

  • Doesn't surprise me in the least. I lost respect for Cameron when he dissed a fan for simply wanting an autograph [after Avatar came out], and I quote Cameron, "...I don't owe you anything...". Alas...!
