This is a project to use a Wii Nunchuck as a hand held controller for a Segway-style self balancing vehicle - in my case a twin wheeled self-balancing electric skateboard. The steering will be performed by either tilting the 'chuck left or right (using accelerometer as the sensor) or using the joystick (depending on which of the 2 buttons on the front are being pressed). If neither button is pressed a logic signal will tell main controller to kill power to the motor. Forward/back movement of joystick allows fine tuning of the balance point of the skateboard. A low cost Arduino board is used to "hack" the Nunchuck and this is what is being shown in the video with LED's plugged into the outputs to demo how it might connect to other microcontrollers (i.e. the one controlling motors and self balancing)
Derived from code developed by Chad Phillips, see: http://windmeadow.com/node/42
