Late afternoon of a Faun-the Nympfe (perhaps Isadora) comes back around itself their scarf to get and it does knows which it wants-Illumination after Leon Backst of Andrea Hilger, Choreographie Mike Salomon
I agree that the sexual display at the end of this version would probably have been beyond the pale back then -- though I think "Puritan" is way off the mark in describing Turn of the Century Europe -- least of all Paris. But regarding the veil as a mere default, as it were, doesn't do it justice. What's so audacious is the faun's interest in the veil, not as a memento of the girl, but as a fetish object.
Thanks for sharing. Frankly I think in those more Puritan days Nijinsky had to go with a veli-that was as far as he dared for his time. Today-the veil or scarf imo would have been the nymph. I've always believed that is what the veil represented actually-the nymph. He wasn't just miming being with a scarf or veil-he was miming being with the nymph. That's my take anyway.
ah so the faun finally gets laid lol. That was very unexpected but hot! It definitely is not meant to mirror the original Nijinsky choreography because indeed it is a "late after-noon" or should I say "nooner" hehehe. Nijinsky was way ahead of his time I wish he hadn't gone crazy and created alot more than what he did.
I think this is meant to be the "sequel" to Nijinsky's original. In this dance, the woman returns to the forest to look for her scarf that the Faun just, er, spent the night with. hehe. The choreography is different as its a different choreographer. The original woman was not very "Isadora" but more 2 dimentional. I think the Faun is a bit more exhuberant after his "interesting" night with the scarf... hehe
Super !!! Danke ! Mehr davon :)Ich habe mir erlaubt das Video auf meine Homepage zu verlinken :)Hoffentlich können wir irgendwann mal wieder zusammen arbeiten :) Ciao+Happy New Year ! Daniel .
The Faun is moving very quickly, the Faun needs some more robotic movements and a bit slower. I guess it´s another version from the original indeed, because they touch each other so much and well at the end the Faun is alone and not with any woman,mmmm...Lots of things to say about, anyway thanks a lot for uploading it. Regards.
The dancers in this video are:
Daniel Cîmpean &
Manuela Mazzei.
