  • @tazio2 I was at a conference today, and as a part of the ice breaker we were asked what our favourite albums were. This was my choice - one of the best albums ever ever recorded in my view. Just awesome.

  • Just completely awesome!

  • Mártín Byrnes from Ahascragh, Ballinasloe, County Galway. The salt of the earth. May he rest in peace.

  • Oh, Martin, what a beautiful man. Was very fortunate to play with him at The King's Head in Islington in the late 60's. Yes, great LP but there is one with just Martin and Reg (Leader LP LEA2004) that has some tremendous tunes on it.

  • you just don't get a sound like this anymore ...i feel blessed i met this man once in Dublin and played the cliffs of moher along with him .....

  • @PaddyRyansdream jaysus delighted to find this, i used to drink up there in the 1980,s there was a fantastic banjo player there , tom mc manamom, think his dad owned the pub, but i used to go up on a sunday morning and play tunes with him and his buddys, , i heard he was playin with the popes , then i heard that he passed which i hope is not true, thanks for postin this

  • Oh man is this sweet. Thanks a bunch.

  • is there someone playing chords on a banjo as accompaniment?

  • This is the best LP / cd EVER made of Irish Trad music , there is nothing that can hold a candle to it. it features 2 solo tracks by Bobby Casey ( i.e. GOD ) it is sublime stuff

  • In 1970 I was in Hospital in Fulham next to an Irishman and Martin came to visit him complete with Fiddle. He visited twice and how those wards came alive. I will always think of him. A great fiddle player and a lovely man.
