Call me rude but from a certain point of view I wouldn't call soldiers brave. It would have been brave NOT to go to war despite whatever might have been the direct consequence of it.

Harry Patch, died yesterday he was the last living Veteran to have endured the slaughter of Paschendale. He never spoke of it for 80 years. He is now immortalised through his story and poems of that experience in his young days, enduring the horrors of WW1. Harry passed away aged 111, rest easy soldier
