Rookie League

Each summer, Jays Care Foundation alongside the Toronto Community Housing has created a program known as Rookie League, a summer-long baseball day camp for kids living in Toronto Community Housing Neighbourhoods.

This year more than 800 kids from 33 different Toronto
Community Housing neighbourhoods are participants in the program.

The purpose of this is to provide participants with valuable baseball skills, development instruction, while emphasizing the values of teamwork, partnership, and cooperation in life beyond the baseball diamond.

The Toronto Police Service has also partnered with Rookie
League through the Youth in Policing Initiative. Every Thursday, 40 YIPI students assist the Rookie League program by serving as coaches, mentors and even food servers!

Rookie League concluded this summer on Thursday, August 25th. A big congratulations goes to all those who have participated to make it another successful year.
