I've been looking for a better version of "Speak Low" than this sang by Marisa Monte. I've heard Sarah's, Judy's and also Billie's version and I'm obied to say: Marisa's is the best.

as outras q me desculpem, mas essa versão da Marisa é definitiva

A loving, sexy, emotive and arousing song sung with passion.
An exceptional post!. Personally, though, I enjoy hers, Ester, even the version by Diane Schuur
Thanks for this post, too!

That's not because I am Brazilian but I was looking for different versions of this song and i could not find any other that could overcome this one. I love Sarah, Billie and the all the jazz greatest but this one from Marisa Monte is definetely the best one. Although she is a pop singer, Marisa can sing jazz like a real diva. I am sorry conservative jazz fans, but let's hear it for Marisa!!!!!.

Have you seen Rodolfo Santana's channel? It looks like Marisa singing Speak Low with a high school jazz band. The hair isn't as long and the arrangement isn't the same but there are elements or "musical fragments" or "licks" that sound almost identical including her "scat" type singing at the end. Also, have you seen the version where she sings Speak Low slowly at first and then it seems to go into double time with a latin beat? What a stunningly beautiful woman, anyway.

Marisa Monte's interpretation of "Speak Low" is simply the best!
And this said by an admirer of Billie, Sarah and Judy's...
I simply agree with "meireanta", this is so far the version, "a versão definitiva".
Thanks for sharing!

very sexy..sensual..
very impersonal performance! why?? is such a deep, erotic song, definitely not meant to be sung like that... i much prefer esther ofarim's version. you can feel something there

Don't worry darling, I'm sure Shakespeare would be proud with Marisa's song ;)
