  • how to your train your beagle to come back to you mine would just run away whenever she got the chance

  • @iLikeToDrum1, It is tough, that is why if you get one that has it in them to retrieve, you work a lot with that pup, after you shoot the rabbit, and the pup runs to grab it, keep repeating a command, we use "Bring em here Sam.." just keep repeating it, the pup will want to run with it, you have to catch em, and once you've got the rabbit, keep giving the pup good praise for letting you have it, like I said it is really hard to do, very time consuming but worth it...Good Luck!!

  • What kind of gun is that??

  • @HunterBrad98 Remington .28 gauge (auto) it is my favorite dove/rabbit/squirrel/skeet gun!

  • Fantastic video!!!....beautiful dogs!!!...im actually in the process of deciding on either a beagle or boykin spaniel pup

  • @711merc Boykin's are pretty dogs!! Can't they hunt Turkeys??

  • My father had a lemon & white beagle named Buck. Whenever Daddy shot a rabbit he had to make sure he got to it before Buck did (because Buck would bury the rabbit and my father would NEVER find it!

  • Awesome! Thanks for uploading and sharing! :) Sweet ol' guy, that beagle...

  • the dog looked so very PROUD when he was bringing the rabbit back! LOL

  • @NRAbarbieOutdoors If you work em early enough and can get them to fetch add some rabbit scent to the training dumby (knotted up sock). I also keep a whole frozen rabbit in a ziplock in the freezer for training/retrieving. It will stay frozen for about 30 mins which is longer than any pups attention span. In the middle of working twp jip pups right now named Dolly and June......ps I agree 110%, its all about the good praise

  • my Branco Beagle has retrieved rabbits and brought them right to me since 4 months old.. Copper has saved many rabbits that I would of other wise never found..

  • In over 37 years of hunting with beagle I own one dog that would bring the rabbits back to me. Keep up the good work

  • That's one hell of a woman!

  • @MsLBK22 lol yea shes just always chasing things and wondering off

  • @iLikeToDrum1

Are you takin care of her????

  • You should really consider capturing your training technique for retreival. In some breeds it kinda of natural and not hard to train. Beagles are usually not good retrievers. Most of the beagels I worked with would maul the rabbit if they got to it before I did.

I would like to see how you trained the dog and would help you document this.
