after watching this video , I made this cornbread tonight at dinner, I love it easpecially that i don't like sweet cornbread, I used regular cornmeal, did you use stone-ground? i only have one complaint about all cornbread recipes , they always dry no moist on them, what do you serve it with? thanks

You don't use flour or baking powder or sugar in traditional Southern cornbread!

use AP flour, baking powder and baking soda to the recipe. will come out softer.

@RitmoNo1 Whole point of Cornbread is Cornmeal In europe it's Polenta yellow ..ground corn

As I am a Goddam Limey.......is this a good recipe? I ask because when I visited Boston a couple of years ago, I tried this and thought it was delicious! I cannot find Cornmeal over here but I have read that Polenta will do?
If you want bread, don't add sugar. If you want cake, add sugar.

Yeah but if you use self rising flour you don't need baking powder :)
