  • As a Public Defender in Colorado Springs, we tell our juries that an accused is actually innocent "unless" proven guilty. "Innocent until proven guilty," seems to imply it's just a matter of time.

  • Good job San Fracisco Public Defenders...it is time for people to know that the Public Defenders are real attorneys and even if they have lots of cases they do care about their clients, they are PDs because they believe in Justice not because they like the pay. With a couple of clear exceptions in the San Diego Public Defender's office, they are all great attorneys that do believe a client is not guilty until proved otherwise.

  • Song?

  • I'm all for feel good messages like this, but the bottom line is: does San Francisco have a crime problem? Yes. Are the same sorts of characters, of all races, committing the majority of crime? Yes.

Less PSA announcments and more action.

  • Awe... That's my daughter! More to come soon....Jewel Milan

  • I agree; "unless" is more on point. Other than that, this is a brilliant PSA.

  • UNLESS

  • @tamrabowman That's a fantastic point and reminds me of the philosophy that my wife (a Public Defender in Brooklyn) has. She refers to the people that she represents as "clients" and not as defendants.

  • Thanks to Jeff Adachi and the SF Public Defender's Office for the opportunity to make a statement on behalf of our constitutional rights, rights that are guaranteed to every citizen of this great country.
