The difference between the green and blue icons is that green is associated being a software instrument generated by GB. Blue is real instrument - Vocals, instrument, etc... that is why in blue it shows up as a waveform and the green as notes

and this is my last comment, for the people really trying to learn GB, when you want to repeat your loop, you dont need to copy and paste it like he's doing, just put your mouse at the end of the loop and drag it as long as you want the loop to last.

let me add this video is false advertisement cuz YOU are not making beats ur just using the loops that garagband comes with... ANYONE can do that....
