This shows you how to heat mold or bake your ice hockey skates from one, this reduces the break in time of your skates but is not a necessary process it's purely optional as some players prefer the tradition method of breaking skates in. Skate baking also gives you a much more custom fitting skate.

Things you'll needs
• Oven gas or electric
• Baking tray
• Skates
• Oven gloves or something to remove the skates from oven after the baking process

  • i have some bauer ice skates and there is no instructions on the box for baking, help i get huge blisters when i skate :(

  • @R9Jmz If you can give me the model, I'll firstly let you know if they can be baked, them send you the instructions if possible. Please post this topic on the forum page as it will require a lot of information and i don't check youtube daily. link is in vid description.

  • Hockey stores charge money to do this in a specialized skate oven - is there any benefit in paying a shop to do it? I'll gladly do it at home if it's all the same.

  • @oL5re9re55ion There really isn't any significant difference, they will both do the same job.

  • can you do this with both skates at the same time?

  • @jasperone204 You can indeed if you have a big enough oven, just ensure the skates have enough clearance and aren't touching anything but the baking tray.

  • Many thanks for this video. Though I've decided to take them to our local skate shop to get them molded, the visual difference between the molded and non-molded skate convinced me that I should just go get this done. Great vid!
