This is perhaps the most poignant video I've seen from the April 27 outbreak. It's chilling all the way to the bone. Such a thin line between life and death, between the safety of the storm shelter and the cataclysmic 200mph winds just above. I can't imagine going through that and knowing that complete destruction to possessions was likely occurring just above, but the most important thing, of course, is that lives that were saved. Kudos for taking shelter and recording the experience.

You described it perfectly. I still get chills if I watch it. We have a shelter of our own now that was finished a few weeks ago. I hope we won't need it but it's a comfort to know it is there. The video is picture proof they do save lives.

The storm pit was at our neighbor's 1/2 mile away. The pile of rubble with the tin wrapped trees WAS their house. The family on that dead end road lost 3 houses, 9 vehicles, 5 or so barns, 14 chicken houses (full of almost mature chickens) and lots more. They have a mobile home now after 5 weeks or so & the brother is rebuilding a house. 2 horses were lost & 2 others are still injured, misc. cows, hay....the list is endless. 2 red barns in vid are ours & lost 35 trees & my car.
