In the year 1953, five years after the Redemptorists arrived in Thailand , many young men showed interest in being a seminarian of our Congregation. We looked on this as a special blessing that God was sending workers into the vineyard. Since our Congregation still did not have a seminary of our own we sent these young men to study m the seminary of Dara Samut School in Sriracha. Those who applied to enter our Congregation from the northeast were sent to St. Joseph School in Thare. The very first seminarian to apply was George Phimphisan, now Bishop George Phimphisan. He went on to be the first Thai Redemptorist priest. He is now Bishop of the Diocese of Udonthani. When Bishop George entered as a seminarian our Congregation still did now have a seminary of our own.
