Things & Stuff: Imbolc (1st Feb)

A seasonal episode of Things & Stuff.

The goddess Bride/Brig/Brigit is a hard one to get hold of. A lot of modern pagans work happily and successfully with unproven or even incorrect historical assumptions about her. There is no evidence to conflate her with the goddess of the Brigantes or to say she existed at all outside of Ireland where pre-Christian records are nonexistant.

@SuperSpiritDove She like many catholic saint was originally a goddess which the pagan ppl refused to give up, so the church made her a saints to get converts. The Irish were strong enough to keep most of their gods and traditions this way!
