#8: Sonic 1 Final Zone. Not the longest or most epic, but I love the beat and seriousness. And it was the 1st final boss ever!
#7: Sonic Advance 3 final boss. Tough boss, awesome music. Again, totally serious, and that high pitch tune fits Robotnik perfectly. Favourite final boss tune out of all Sonic Advance series.
#6: Sonic 3D blast final fight. REALLY like this one. Epic, serious but toned down. A really hard hitting tune that fits this tough zone really well. Not a chiptune, but I still love it.
#5: Sonic 2 final boss. gotta love that beat throughout the entire song, gives Robotnik an amazing authority! And the kinda alarm sound start. Great tune.
#4: Hardly known, Sonic Chaos' final boss. I HATED this boss, and remember this tune really well. Easily fits in as one of the most epic.
#3 Even less known, Sonic Triple Trouble final boss. Heard throughout all THREE boss phases, the last one being by far the toughest. One of the most difficult bosses ever. Tune is toned down, but catchy, and serious, and I really like it.
#2: Sonic CD final boss (JP-VERSION): No final boss tune for the American sounds (those sucked anyway), this is one freaking epic track. The one and only Sonic track to use opera music which puts it to an amazing effect and perfect for a final boss- the boss itself sadly not the toughest one ever. Again not a chiptune but beats the crap out of any of the recent Sonic tracks.
#1: Sonic 3 / Sonic & Knuckles: Oh yeah, tough boss, epic chip track. Fast, impending doom, panic, action and general nightmare make this THE best final boss track. Sooo awesome, words can't really describe how atmospheric this really is. Gone down in history and thankfully very well known as just how good it is.

@Jessssse102 both yes and no (since heroes is counted by sega as dreamcast era), sonic colours and generations were actually very fun games, but I do agree most non 2D games between there release were mediocre (unleashed), boring(secret rings), or just plain unplayable (Sonic06)
