Senate Hearing discussing oil drilling and legal liability Senator Al Franken asks Jack Coleman about the BP Oil Spill and the moratorium on Deepwater Drilling. Jack Coleman says that if the oil companies were completely liable for the monetary legal damages that might occur in an oil spill that they cause, than no oil company would be willing to accept that risk and there would be no offshore drilling at all. An amazing argument.

BP's profit in the first quarter of 2010 was $5.6 billion dollars.

  • @missymcr1 it's ignorant women like you that are destroying this planet.

  • @jstasur

You're an asswipe. Franken knows that because there was no regulation, BP is harming our planet, killing people, and taking away thousands of jobs. What else do you need to know?

  • @Mayofour are you kidding! this guy is a "know nothing" comedic reject. if handwringing, finger pointing could fix this spill - it would've been fixed a long time ago. Fix the spill and then look into negligence issues. Franken knows NOTHING about oil drilling & yet this guy has to sit and be grilled by this douchebag.

  • @benympls Why would you assume I have a bias to any party? I used Rush as a comparison. Thats all. I have listened to Frankens radio show, and quite frankly I think the guy is an extremist. Much the reason I quit watching Fox, because I think the oil spill should take precidence over republicans winning seats, and what scandal is currently taking place. I cant watch CNN for the same reason, and certainly cant be entertained by Nancy Grace on HLN. I think most politicians are jokes.

  • @scooterss2112 Alright dude, keep listening to talking points & ignoring facts. Are you saying other politicians arent jokes? cause that makes me laugh. Senator Franken is the ONLY senator with NO lobbyist in his staff!!! By many people left & right say that he has the BEST staff they've seen in washington in a long time. Every other senator has many lobbyist as staffers but he's a joke? seems like he's the only 1 taking this seriously. Whats your thoughts on Reagan?

  • @STEEEVVYZ yeah nothing will displace the oil. Considering you need the oil to build the bujjillion things you need to build to replace the oil.

I would like to see a solar energy panel produce plastic. See, theres the problem.

It would take every drop of oil on the planet to PRODUCE something to replace it. And then only to be 50% less efficient. No oil means no humans. Because humans will destroy each other if they cant use their cell phones. u think ghetto trash are going to read a book?

  • @benympls I said, I WOULDNT want Rush running for anything in the gov't. But ahhh the comedian Al Franken IS. That is the JOKE. Franken ACTUALLY is.

YOu dont see anyhitng wrong with that? That we have comedians for senators? That our voters are so freakin shallow they would vote someone like that in? ONLY because he is a democrat? The guy atleast is trying to not say, uhh, between everyword, it is now replaced with silence. Thank god. Hes a god damn freak show side kick.

  • SENATOR FRANKEN RULES!! LOVE THAT GUY!
