your right. nothing rlly beats the orignal. especially that mark tremonti is one of the best.
but if u can repicate it then ur just as good imo. for example this youtuber. im posting soon a vid of me playing and singing one last breath. i learned this via youtube vids of people playing it. but i have absolutly no clue how to rlly play guitar.

I learned everything all by myself.... learning with the tablatures songbook..... I thought about getting lessons, but I don't have enough time for it so, I do my best by myself

you dont need them. at least from my perspective. i basically play songs via watching others play and trying to hit the same notes.
alot of songs require u to tune the guitar a certain way. from what little i played of this song its standard tuning

Actually, the correct tuning for this song is drop D tuning, down 1 step (C-G-C-F-A-D). I sometimes play a song by ear (Is this the end... Blackbird.... for exemple) but some parts are quite often harder to find by ear so, I think that the best way to play a song accuratly is with the official tabs.... when available! Many people play what they think is right, or what sounds right, but they often play it wrong.... but that's just my point of view!

Also, Alter Bridge change the tuning quite often (Drop D, Open G, ½ step down, 1 step down, standard tuning, Open D, Drop B.....) so it's really easier to figure a song out once we know the right tuning!
