Tree and Me
Music & Lyrics by: Destiny Rambo McGuire
A long time ago, under shadows of strange
There was an enchanted young girl
With a knack for adventure, an eye full of mischief
She found herself lonely one day
Then out of the blue someone walked in her room
And invited her to fly away
To a whimsical land under hammocks and willows
He took her hand, whispered don't be afraid
It was Tree and me playing Lord of the Rings
Conquer the dragon, leaves up to our knees
Tree and me as close as could be
And I never cared to be viewed as absurd
Some may have thought I was talking to birds
Oh those were the magical days of Tree and me
Not long ago, quite close to the present
They told me I had to grow up
Turn in my wings in exchange for an office
And fabricate my resume'
So all I could do was to leave him behind
And tell him to go fly away
But the magic still whispered through typewriter ribbons
Beckoning softly, come out to play
Now its Tree and me singing out come what may
Paying our taxes and seizing the day
Tree and me as free as can be
I really don't care to be viewed as absurd
For all that they know, I still talk to birds
Oh this is the magical tale of Tree and me
Life has been a long road
And the road has not been kind
But time's no VCR
And there is no rewind
But if ever I could find the chance
For one more sentimental glance over my shoulder
Its only to remember you and me
My best of friends, who lives invisibly
