  • that was cruel.. im starving! looks AMAZING

  • @shalom1948hellyeah he may have been facetious but there was truth there. and it's not merely stares that happen. i'm black and i've been in many korean/asian restaurants in l.a. and i have even been refused service and/or completely ignored. and to say asians are unwanted in universities is an exaggeration. asians r a tiny portion of the pop. but form large numbers of uni students. if asians were unwanted, they would not be let in at the rates they are.

  • @iwasborntobefly Dave was being facetious

it's like a lot of ethnic places. when you go up to harlem you get a lot of stares from the black folks too

like Bourdain says, these are not Americanized places serving egg rolls and wonton soup. if you can speak Korean or know what you're doing then they'll welcome you

they just don't want to deal with white morons crying about the food or making a fuss

at least it's restaurants for u. asians are unwanted on TV and in universities

  • i think it's funny that chang said they don't want white people there. in koreatown in la, there's a total vibe that nonasians are NOT welcome in a lot of restaurants. that sort of bothers me about promoting korean restaurants in koreatown and places like it. why promote them? often you're completely not welcome when you show up.

  • @KatiushaVN4 yeah he's definitely a hipster.

unfortunately he's also one of the most famous and influential chefs in New York city.

check out his review of bourbons for Jimmy Fallon. he's drunk the entire time.

  • that meal must have cost about 1k dollars XD

  • That guy, Chang, is such an annoying

  • Wow! Next time I'm in NY I'm going here! We've got a big Korean community in London and lots of great eating places - mostly populated by Korean people - but nothing like this!

  • @Helikaon9 You're not alone. I love both Japanese and Korean foods but I want my meat and fish cooked. I just can't get the texture issue.
