This video features the song by Duster Bennett - "Everday" - it was recorded almost 37 years ago, 23/08/1970, in London, at CBS Studio. Duster sings and plays harmonium. This is a peculiar song, defying any classification. The closest I can think about are a couple of songs by Graham Bond, for example, the beautiful "Love is the Law", featured on Graham Bond's tribute MySpace page.
I made this video clip using material filmed in Cologne at the beginning of this month by my son and me. Mostly you see the underground basement and interior of the Great Saint Martin Church: famous Romanesque Catholic church in Cologne. It was founded circa 960 AD on what was then an island in the Rhine, and was later transformed into a Benedictine monastery. The current buildings, including a soaring crossing tower that is a landmark of Cologne's Old Town, were erected between 1150-1250. The church was badly damaged in WWII, but has now been restored.
Wow!

Thought I knew all the Duster tracks, but cannot recall this. Nice. Different, and some very interesting chords too. Thanks for sharing it, but where is the video?
Aaah...I just found out at the end. Thanks.

I actually hummed this tune last Christmas... I have the 12 DBs album on a worn down but cherished cassette tape. Never thought I'd be finding it here today. Great!

Hi Cymbula
Thanks to you and all of the above contributors. As you are fans of Duster, be sure to check out the superb biography Jumping At shadows, written by Peter Green biographer Martin Celmins. Best wishes to all

Saw Duster at Nottingham Uni in 1969, he was the support act to Fairport Convention(Sandy Denny, Richard Thompson etc.). He was great in his 'one man blues band' style. Sang, played harmonica, guitar, bass drum, cymbal, fantastic.I had hitchhiked 50 miles to see him and only about a dozen people were watching. Chatted to him at the bar afterwards, bought him a drink. He had a pint of orange cordial. Super guy, very modest and unassuming.'Jumping at shadows'is an absolute classic of British blues.

I saw Duster Bennett somewhere in Surrey in November 1974. He was amazing, but I had never heard his music again until now. Thanks for posting this, it's beautiful.

I saw Duster Bennett at Mothers Birmingham to all of 6 people, as it happened to be the night the final Cream concert was televised. Nice guy - very approachable. Such a shame about his end. 40 minutes from town is my favourite.
