so, you compared a mobile OS against a MID OS, against a desktop OS? What a waste of time.

well, well, well.... you can easily strip down Ubuntu and Fedora to achieve the same boot speed. Android skips lots of probing of hardware drivers such as checking if there is a FDD drive. Google is only loading a minimal set for you to be able to browse the internet. So, just add a dual or quad Raid0 SSD and turn off lots of things in your Ubuntu start up and you'll see.

Nice video but even though the specs are claimed to be the same its still a different hardware platform so not a perfect comparison. Still good though and thanks! Personally what I find more important is how fast they sleep/hibernate. Android is damn nice but personally I prefer a full blow distro and all the goodies it has to offer not that android doesnt or at least will have a large selection too but its more of a "net device" if you will rather than a "desktop". Just my 2 cents.

yes. all netbooks consists of atom processor , sata-hdd , ddr ram.
for reference, difference is model name by manufactor just.
