Every year on the morning of May 1st, Oxford greets the arrival of summer with music, dancing, singing and not a small amount of student antics. This is a compilation of moments from May Morning 2007.
You hear Magdalen College Choir (singing from the Tower at 6am) and St Johns College Choir (singing madrigals in the Front Quad at 7am)
All sound & music was recorded live on my little camera, so I apologise for the quality.
Nice job- and so fast! I must have been standing about 10 metres from you when the choristers were singing, and wondering if someone would put it on YouTube. I hadn't attended since 1979, and yesterday really seemed a brilliant one to capture. Is it me, or is the sound and sight of those choristers at the top of Magdalen Tower faintly reminiscent of The Wicker Man....?

If I'd seen The Wicker Man, I might be able to comment! The 2007 Morning certainly knocked the socks off '06... can't say how it compared to the '79 edition :-)

Thanks for posting this -- all the elements I remember fondly from May morning in Oxford!

Glad you enjoyed it - I had fun making it (and almost got kicked in the face by a morris dancer in the process- see 2.17) It was a fantastic sunny morning too.
