  • Great chops! Always love your vids. Sidenote: Why do you like your snare tuned so low? I guess I just prefer a tighter sound, but to each his own :)

  • @AngryNinja9000 I actually recorded this after I had gotten out of a session recording some country songs (I live in Nashville, TN). That's really the sound they go for...a nice, fat sounding snare and then they compress the daylights out of it. I just didn't re-tune it for the lesson. I typically like my snare a bit more snappy than this. Thanks so much for the kind words!

  • The beginning it sounds a lot like 50 ways to leave your lover! Slightly different though :)! Awesome lessons dude! Helping me a LOT :D

  • @Turtlesrossum Really glad the lessons help! Seriously, that's what they're here for. I teach live 4 times a week from my website if you're interested. Thanks so much for letting me know they help...it's what keeps me posting them.

  • Dude, you are killing these lessons.. For me, it's Mike Johnston, then your channel..

  • @Weallfart I'll gladly take second to a teacher like Mike Johnston...mad respect for someone who teaches as well as he does (and is a monsta player might I add!). So glad you're getting something out of them...and that you're digging through some of the old lessons...alot of peeps haven't been doing that and I've got a ton of them up here. As for me, I'll be practicing some of your licks you've thrown up here...just checked out a few and they're great!

  • Haha. I find a way to use what I learn in any way possible. Sometimes it doesn't work, sometimes it does. haha.

  • Hey bro what type of Mic are you using for this demonstrations? If you don't mind me asking...(the one you are talking through)

  • @imdrumzer They're called Moon Gels...you can get them in any drum department of your local music store, or online. They're my fav way to quickly add a bit of dampening.

    Hope that helps!

  • what dampeners u got?
