Horrible ... horrible launch from the M3 ... yes it's 0.1s faster to roll ... but that's all it's doing ... rolling . Do not expect sub 5s 0-60 with that kind of launch ... tip for next time (if you do not want to use launch control). Put in in D3, power (ECD off, DST active), and stomp the throttle ... it's kind of a mini-launch, you would have been way better off, and it's only taking 0.1s to rev and launch that way vs sitting at 5.5k like a moron :)

@shyamtrishen Agree on you cannot complain about the engine size ... MB and BMW just decided to get there different ways ... however M > AMD every day ... it's about the package, not 0.01% faster 0-60 ... if that was my game I would get a used Z06. There is no doubt who invented this segment, and the other contenders (MB, Audi, Caddy, Lexus, Infinity) are all trying to catch up... (trying being the word here). BTW C63 is all about hp, not about finesse.

@michelinov Well the M3 was catching up ... which indicate a poor launch. But then again the driver tend to be the main reason for winning/losing so similar matched cars. Granted I would expect the C63 beat a manual M3 though, but DCT should be pretty much identical. However if you do the engine upgrade (which I won't call tune, as it's factory), the C63 should have the edge ... I just wished BMW would do something similar ... or perhaps that's what they are planning with the 4.4L TT ...

@bmp0wered since when does a m3 beat a e55 stock in a drag race. Those e55's accelerate faster the then the e63's because they have more torque.

Actually, the M3 kept up. I think that's rather impressive. I would like to see a professional test head to head with the M3's DCT.

Also, the AMG doesn't keep up in the bends.

oh come on the M3 didnt even use launch control very bad start for the M3 and yes even with a good start the amg may still win because M3 is NOT a drag racer! show the amg some corners and let the humiliation beggin

@shortexxx , first of all, it's 6.2 L.

Second, the M3 was actually the first car to start rolling. Just look at 0:04.

Third, the M5's V10 doesnt blow away the C63, or the heavier E63, for that matter. They all run consistent dead even 1/4 miles in the mid 12s. And your comment about the corners is true and all, but who races around a track anyway? The only way to compare track times is to run both cars one by one seperately. It's no fun if both cars cant race head 2 head at the same time.
