July 31, 2004 in the 23900 block of 86 Ave East. The pilot of the small vintage plane attempted an emergency landing in a very rough field. The roughness of the terrain flipped the plane. Sorry I don't know the make of the aircraft. None of the injuries were life threatening.

  • the plane is a 1946 stinson 108, i used to have one, heres the NTSB report on the accident:

    Aircraft: Stinson 108, registration: N97599

    Injuries: 1 Minor, 1 Uninjured.

The pilot, with approximately 30 hours total time in make and model, had recently purchased the airplane. The airplane had just been refueled, and approximately 5 minutes into the flight the engine lost power. Attempts to restart the engine were unsuccessful, prompting the pilot to make a forced landing in a horse pasture

  • @VX2100DV You might enjoy some of my videos, look for Fokker1915. I took that name because I built a replica of one of them, the Fokker Eindecker. Video of it flying from a PBS Video called Four Years of Thunder. Also look for my website Jimforeman com

  • @Fokker1915 Thank you.

  • Thats why he lost all law suits againts the department right? Slanderis ass. Go have another drink

  • This is the same airplane that had made the landing in Terra Haute, Indiana approx. 2 weeks earlier. The landing that is shown here was fine except for a wire fence which couldn't be seen from the air which pilot attempted to hop over during short field landing. Injuries were to passenger, not pilot. Pilot was severely injured by over-zealous paramedics en route to hospital. Paramedics claim no memory/accountability of transport. Pilot was treated to 31 min. of torture, courtesy of paramedics.

  • It does. Thank you.

  • no This is definately a stinson 108 you can tell by the cowlin and angled cockpit door the elevator is high like a stinson 108 see the fairing on the main gear Piper cubs dont have fairing and the cubs have a bungee system on the gear clearly missing in this airplane on 3:02 you can see its a yoke and not a stick. Yoke=stinson Stick=Cub rear window is to small for cub. Hope this helps

  • yeah its deffinently not a piper cub
