It all depends on how you establish the RIGHT to occupy that land. I assume that you believe that Israel has the right of conquest to own the land? Some say there is a right of occupation which means the Palestinians have a greater right. I believe that God, through the Bible, gives the Israelis the right. When people feel their rights are being infringed on then there is conflict.

I don't get the big deal. Israel won that land in a defensive war and Israelis want to live there. What's the problem?
