  • Compelling great content is just the answer to most of SEO questions

  • Actually because search is personalized, adwords ADD more organic search volume for loggedin users. But that does not mean algorithmic rankings. Just mean people that keep cookies are keen to visit your site again via search (even organic)

  • @ClintDavis86 Paid links that pass PageRank are against Google's Guidelines, so obviously their own paid links don't pass PageRank.

  • What about Google bot searching web pages that use adsense, will adsense links count towards my organic listing?

  • I agree with Die1101. It can be indirect benefits, such getting an inbound link after the person had visited the website or from a share in social networks.

  • It could happen indirectly: people find your site because they clicked on an ad, they like it, they link to it, so you rank better. It's kinda obvious, but still worth mentioning.

  • With the new Google+ feature on both the ADS and regular results and and the Google+ results playing a role in how things are at the very least displayed in search results (with "Your friend shared this" feature) it might be interesting to see how the additional plus button on the ads may indirectly influece rankings via increased clicks on shared items.
