@MsJollycholly They didn't control Mothra, they were her High Priestesses, the prayer was kinda like a silent burgular alarm kinda thing that told Mothra they needed her help. technically Mtohra's a mnifestation of Nature and the Earth, hence why she has threatend humanity sometimes but generally only when we've deserved it like desecrating Godzilla's remains to buil Kiryu.
