Downtown Columbiana, Ohio, gets a brand new theater, with the opening of The Main Street Theater. First opened in 1953, Don Arthurs and his family bought the building that had gone into major disrepair back in February of 2007. After 15 months, virtually the entire theater has been remodeled, and now can show live events as well.
It's mytheatercompany . com (w/o the spaces).

It was always sad to see the theatre in such a sorry state. I had a lot of happy memories there, and love supporting the local community. I'm quite pleased it's back and been upgraded, it's really going back to it's roots and going forward at the same time, no easy task, but it was all wonderfully done.

It means a lot to myself and the community to see the Arthur family give so much back to Columbiana by restoring and updating the theater. Everyone involved did a fantastic job. The theater and cafe look fantastic! Not to mention the cafe has the best grilled sandwiches around. I recommend grilled turkey, swiss, sauerkraut, and thousand island dressing on marble rye!

I went to the movies in Columbiana for years, up to about 1976. It is great to see the theater renovated. Best of luck to the Arthur family.
