Very interesting! Thanks for sharing!

i really dont consider this a foux window because its just as much work as the so called real window pattern., this pattern is quite good because it gives the quilter more color choices. Thank you

Have you figured out how to do this technique with other shapes as in the rectangles you use to make the cathedral window?

Thank you so much!!! I understand how to do this now! Thank you!!

Great tutorial. I'm sure this would use less fabric than the "traditional" cathedral window, which really appeals to me. Is there any way to caluculate how much yardage would be needed

Thank you for this video post. I used this tutorial to make a baby quilt and ironed on baby wishes in the squares.

This reminds me of a bowtie patch i made years ago. Love cathedral window pattern, and cant wait to start a quilt.

Really awesome technique, keeping posting interesting tips. This is what keeps quilting interesting, real demos that dont break the bank. Thank you.
Yes, but the shapes you start with are very awkward. This is really the only one that works.

There is no easy way to calculate yardage. You would need to figure the size of your block, then how many blocks per strip, then how many strips.

Very nice! Now is it as easy as sewing the blocks together? because I want the look of the traditional cathedral window quilt.

Yes, but if you sew four together you will get a circle in the middle. So what you do is treat the four Faux Cathedral Window Blocks as if they were the squares shown in the very beginning to make the four patch. When you sew the four blocks together, insert the large square into the center and you will have 5 Cathedral Window diamonds.
