It looked like the Democrats in that state expressed concern about the closeness, in order to trick McCain's campaign to put all their resources into Pennsylvania, which helped turn all the swing states go blue.

I agree. The PA upset was so hyped by the media. Obama did better in PA than Gore and Kerry combined. (Gore won by 5 points while Kerry squeaked by with 2.
