Mike Szucs, vivaAerobus CEO, and representatives from GE Commercial Aviation Services and the City of Austin announce details of the airline's service from Austin to Mexico.

Starting May 1, travelers will be able to fly directly from Austin, Texas to Cancun and Monterrey, Mexico for as little as $9.99 on vivaAerobus. Company executives announced details of its initial service to and from Austin, as well as formally launching online travel booking at vivaAerobus.com. Austin is the first U.S. City to be served by the innovative ultra low cost carrier.

vivaAerobus will operate out of the new South Terminal at Austin Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA). The City of Austin recently finalized a lease agreement with GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) to construct and operate the new terminal. Currently, GECAS is renovating a former National Guard building at ABIA that will serve as the interim terminal.
