@Shupiefly i don't think she downloaded any brishes, but to add a new brush, open the picture (in GIMP) that you want as your brush (preferable png format, cause then there's transparency), then from the edit menu select copy. Once that picture is in the clipboard, it should show up on your list of brushes

Why do I have to save it as PNG file,
and not JPEG?
And what actually is the difference between PNG and JPEG, or others?

@TheTrueResponder With jpg the transparency around the letters will become white, png will keep it transpantent. Maybe you can find a wikipedia article about the different file formats. :)
