@annieladysmith yes, i agree with u. They are good horse recuers too.
I can see that the hunter seat training we get in N. America makes a great difference in our jumping styles. I have ridden cross-country in Ireland and they never can figure out how i am always with the horse and the horse is always happy. They can't get that it is all in the secure, independent and balance seat i have from spending so much time in hunter competition. U have to be still and flow to win the round.

@annieladysmith yes, most falls r the rider's fault. yes, some of these riders r in the horses' mouths too much. but these ppl r great riders. to say that the english "shouldn't even be allowed on horses" is predjudiced & untrue. do u know every english person? no. u can't make such a big judgement. i started riding there, my instructors & barn friends there were some of the nicest riders to their horses i've ever met. and i know lots of ppl who aren't english who are very cruel to their horses.

@annieladysmith Where I live in rural England I frequently see riders who are obviously practising loose rein techniques and telepathy. On behalf of those riders I have to say not all English riders deserve contempt.
I'm a packhorse man myself.

@annieladysmith Please correct me if I'm wrong, somebody. This kind of riding is directly descended from cavalry training. These are glorified war games dressed up as sport. This is an industry run for profit.
We're seeing record numbers of horses in need of rescue. Some people even take down horse sanctuary fences and put their horses in during the hours of darkness. Those who care can help horses in need. Supporting an industry of this nature does not demonstrate a caring attitude.

Just about all these falls are due to the rider. Experience does not mean u r a good rider. People keep the same bad habits year in and year out, it's disgusting to see great horses get yanked in the chops as they take off over a scary and huge jump. I think the english are the worst of all, they shouldn't even be allowed on horses.

You have to understand that these are very experienced riders and that falls are a part of the sport
I have two horses
I would know

Ok, but there are some seriously f'd up obstacles in some of these accidents

@joeyvomitz THIS IS NOT CRUEL!! I HAVE BEEN HORSE RODONG SINCE I WAS 3! I WOULD'VE STOPPED IF IT WAS CRUEL BECUZ I LOVE HORSES!

and its not that i disagree with the sport .. i disagree with some of the riders.

i can never understand why people pull so hard on their mouths... that's not trust . anyone who pulls that hard on a horse shouldn't be riding. its one thing to ease a horse thats going to fast or getting excited but its another to jurk your reins back all hard.. personally i wouldn't go over those jumps either if someone pulled at my mouth. serves em right !(riders) as for the video the music was priceless :D
@MrsRagnarok they are treated rlly well! whats your problem? the riders are professionals. they dont rip in hte mouth that hard as it looks. btw. you try this? you wouldnt survive a singe jump. and they dont bounce in the saddles. its called a ''light seat'' incase you dont know

I love how all you people that don't know a damn thing about this are screaming poor horse/bad riders. I do this at a very low level and its hard. Not only is it demanding on the bodies of you and your horse its emotionally demanding as well. I can tell you right now if the horses didn't trust their riders they wouldn't do any of this! It's all a huge team effort and when things like these falls happen the riders are devastated. No rider at this level abuses their partner! Learn Respect.
